The Standish Communications Center is located at the Central Fire Station
within the Municipal Center and is operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Receiving and dispatching calls for Fire, Medical
emergencies, animal control, facilitating the issuance of burning permits and any special requests of the town's contract
Sheriff's deputies. This is also the primary dispatch center for Sebago Fire/EMS. The dispatchers are the first line in
customer service for the citizens and vistors of the town. We have four full time dispatchers with supplement from six part
time dispatchers. There is one dispatcher on duty at a time.
Standish Dispatch handles walk-ins to the public safety division, recieves
the communities 9-1-1 calls from the Cumberland County Communications Center, answers 4 other business lines, as well as monitoring
3 primary and all of our surrounding mutual aid radio frequencies.
Standish Public Safety Dispatch had
23,671 encounters in 2007 with the public to include phone calls and citizens making direct contact at the window in the public
safety lobby.
